Breakfast is usually served in the dining-room, but in fine weather you may choose to eat al fresco. We can serve you on the decking or in the shade of the large whitebeam tree, where you can watch the chickens and enjoy the beautiful gardens.
Janet cooks your breakfast to order, using produce from local butchers and stores. The wide range of options means you'll be spoilt for choice.
- Full English cooked breakfast, with your choice of bacon, smoked salmon, sausage, tomatoes, baked beans, mushrooms, and free-range eggs.
- Fruit juices, tea and coffee.
- Cereals and fruit, including just-picked fruits from the orchard when available.
- Warm croissants, bread and toast with homemade or local preserves.

We can usually offer you an evening meal from Monday to Thursday and salad or sandwiches at weekends. Do please contact us for a menu (and give us 48 hours’ notice). All your meals are home-cooked by Janet or Simon and locally-sourced as far as possible.
Typical dishes include Cod with Puy Lentils, Chorizo & Persillade, Chicken & Mushroom Pie, Beetroot Tarte Tatin with Herby Creme Fraiche and Beef Rendang with Fresh Mango Chutney. Orchard Pond is unlicensed, but you’re very welcome to bring your own drinks.
If you have a special request, please ask before you arrive and we’ll be happy to prepare it if possible. We can also recommend some excellent pubs and restaurants nearby.

When you arrive, you’ll be greeted with a delicious batch of Janet’s home-made cakes or biscuits. Served with freshly-brewed tea or coffee or a refreshing cold drink, they really hit the spot.
